Petrus Bernard Eecke was born in Lembeke, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium on 10 December 1731[1] and died in Kaprijke, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium on 6 October 1771[2]. He was the son of Petrus and Christophora (Vourne) Eecke. He married on 1 May 1754[3] in Sint-Jan-in-Eremo, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium Joanna Agatha De Bouvere born 5 February 1732[4] in Sint-Jan-in-Eremo and died in Kaprijke on 11 November 1777[5]. Se was the daughter of Petrus and Anna Maria Francisca (Noe) Eecke.

            All of the information we have for this couple comes from church records. Church records began about 1600 and nicely bridge the time until public record keeping began in 1796. In the late nineteenth century, all church records were indexed for baptisms, marriages and deaths. Microfilm of these records are available on FamilySearch.org. The only thing you need to know is the location. This is not always easy to determine since there was a lot of movement from town to town in this period.

iii.                 Anna Maria Eecke, b. 24 October 1757, d. 13 Dec 1770 in Kaprijke.

iv.                 Joseph Eecke, b. 9 September 1765, d. 28 May 1825, m. on 2 May 1792, Maria Francisca Tierlinck, b. 16 February 1773 in Kaprijke and died there on 10 March 1846.

v.                   Maria Anna Eecke, b. 19 March 1768.

vi.                 Petrus Joannes Eecke, b. 30 January 1771.
