Karel Franciscus Dobbelaere, was born
in Kaprijke, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium on 18 December 18091
and died there on 21 April 18902.
He was the son of Joannes Franciscus and Isabella Theresia (Van De
Plassche) Dobbelaere. He married (1) on 9 January 1838 Coleta Den
Trog,3
b. 30 December 1812 in Kaprijke and d, there 7 August 1845, (2) on 17
November 18474
Maria Caroline Vermussche, b. 13 December 1810 in Kaprijke and d.
there 12 Feb 1885 and (3) on 8 October 18855
Natalie Coleta De Connick b, 27 January 1838 in Watervliet, Oost
Vlaanderen, Belgium.
I have found this family in the Population Registers for Kaprijke. In
18576
the household consisted of Francis, 48, Marie Caroline, 47, Rosalie,
18, Marie Therese, 17, Seraphina, 15, Karel Louis, 13 and Bruno, 8.
It is noted that on May 2, 1860 the family with the exception of
Rosalie moved to Bassevelde. By 1867 the family was back in Kaprijke.

consisted of Francis born 1806, married to Maria Vermussche; Maria
born 1811 married to Francis; Charles, son of Francis born Jan 1843;
Bruno, son of Francis born Mar 1849; Seraphina, daughter of Bruno
born 1847 and married to Bruno Van Heysse; Bruno Van Heysse, born Feb
1839, farm worker and married to Seraphina Dobbelaere; children of
Bruno and Seraphina, Marie Louise, Florentin, Julie, Charles
Ludovinus, Julie Marie, Julius Bruno, Petrus, Julie Marie. This
family liked the name Julie but none of their daughters with that
name survived toddlerhood.
By 18805 all of children had started households of their
own. The household consisted of Francis and Maria until 1885 when it
is noted that Maria died on February 12. Francis married for a third
time on October 8, 1885 to Natalie De Connick who was born in
Watervliet on January 27, 1837. This record also records the death of
Francis on April 21, 1890.
