Ivo Van De Veire (1837-1900)

I decided to do these ancestors together since I know very little about them. Hopefully as Family Search digitizes their film and posts them on-line, more information will be available.

Ivo Van De Veire, was born in Kaprijke, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium on 30 April 1837ⁱ and died there on 21 January 1900ⁱⁱ. He was the son of Joannes Franciscus Van De Veire and Francisca Eecke. According to a comment by the priest in a church register, his parents never married although they were together for many years and had 9 children together. Also his marriage record states that he is the recognized son of Joannes Van De Veire indicating that his parents were not married. Ivo married Rosalie Francisca Du Four in Sint-Jan-in Eremo, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium on 11 October 1876ⁱⁱⁱ. She was the daughter of Joannes Du Four and Francisca Caurvels. Rosalie was born on 25 November 1835^iv in Sint-Jan-in-Eremo and died in Kaprijke on 29 April 1900^v.

We know very little about Ivo's and Rosalie's lives. Ivo moved to Sint-Jan-in-Eremo in September 1870 and married there in 1876. On 14 May 1892 he moved back to Kaprikje where he died. He was very poor and his occupation was given as workman or laborer. I am sure that both Ivo and Rosalie worked very hard all their lives

i. Peter Bernard Van De Veire . b. 18 Nov 1877 in Sint-Jan-in-Eremo, Oost Vlaanderen, Belgium, d. Oct 1955 in Paterson, Passaic, New Jersey, m. on 8 Oct 1900 in Kaprijke Elodie Dobbelaere, b. 28 Sep 1882 in Kaprijke and d. 5 Aug 1955 in Paterson.
